ARMCG IS EUROPE BOUND! 

(Athens, Ga.) Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C.  has been contracted to evaluate feasible alternatives for providing wastewater treatment for communities, or gminas, in Poland which will comply with European Union standards and protect the environment surrounding Goczalkowickie Lake. The Bielsko-Biala Poland Wastewater Project ARMCG will oversee, consists of the development of a region-wide solution to wastewater treatment needs for 12 gminas in the southwestern area of Poland.

The project entails modernization and expansion of existing wastewater treatment facilities for the gminas association, and subsequent development of optimal wastewater treatment solutions for each of the smaller communities. These solutions will include installation of new wastewater transfer pipelines and interceptors in the Goczalkowickie Lake watershed area so that efficient treatment solutions can be obtained.

The project also involves developing the technical design for the project, coordinating the transfer and treatment of wastes from each gmina to existing and new treatment facilities, and retrofitting existing facilities with new treatment technology.

Each of the wastewater facilities currently in operation in the 12 gminas is being studied to determine the following:

• current wastewater treatment capacity

• current wastewater influent flow

• level of treatment produced vs. EU standards

• feasibility of facility expansion

• current operational capabilities

• economic feasibility of expansion and expanded operations
  

Comparative cost-benefit analysis will be performed on the available options, including wastewater treatment facility expansions, new wastewater treatment facility construction, and pipeline and pumping systems construction. The analysis will include careful evaluations of projected operations and maintenance costs as well as capital costs.
