PRESS RELEASE - ECOLINKS PROGRAM

The Athens-based engineering/architecture/construction management firm, Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C. (ARMCG), was selected as a participant in the first US government sponsored environmental Trade Mission to Central Asia.  The mission took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan and Tashkent, Uzbekistan during the month of May.

During this event, Mr. David M. Roebuck, PE, CCM, a principal of ARMCG, met with Kazak and Uzbek government officials and private industry representatives to discuss engineering solutions to environmental problems in the region.

ARMCG was chosen based on their experience with environmental infrastructure projects in Africa, Eastern Europe, South America and the Caribbean.  The firm's clients include the US federal government as well as foreign national and state governments.

The Central Asia initiative is a part of the EcoLinks Program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and serves to promote the identification and transfer of environmental expertise and technologies from the US to countries in Eastern Europe and from the former Soviet Union.

ARMCG is currently developing proposals for feasibility and research study efforts to address some of the environmental problems relating to water supply, quality and usage in western Uzbekistan as a consequence of the mission.

The firm provides professional services for infrastructure projects including concept development, financing acquisition, design, construction management and operations assistance.

Please contact David Roebuck for further information at 548-8211.
