ATHENS COMPANY EXPANDS SERVICES TO LATIN AMERICA Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C. was recently selected by the Federal government to perform study and evaluation services of the water and wastewater sector in Venezuela. The firm was chosen, following a qualifications-based nationwide selection process conducted by the United States Trade and Development Agency. Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C., an Athens based engineering/architectural/construction management company, recently sent a team of engineers and technical experts to Venezuela to review the host government's priority projects in this sector. Representatives from the firm met with government officials to discuss the details of the projects which encompassed four states of Venezuela. These projects range in size from US$6.2 Million to US$200 Million. The results of the firm's report will be used to determine the US government's level of support and the potential for participation of US manufacturers and suppliers for these projects.
One of the proposed projects is the construction of a sub-marine pipeline. Studies such as the evaluation of seismic activity in the area need to be conducted. These studies will have a beneficial impact on the local environment by evaluating the treating of wastewater that is currently discharged into local rivers and streams; the treating of wastewater will have a corresponding improvement to wildlife and the human environment. Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C. will also recommend closely assessing the potential flooded areas and any possible environmental impact. The proposed projects will also benefit U.S. labor by providing significant markets for U.S. goods and services.
