Dignitaries To Visit Athens In Anticipation Of European Union Membership Armentrout
Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C., an Athens,
Georgia, USA based engineering, architectural and construction
management firm, was awarded a contract in May for a municipal
engineering project in the City of Celje, Slovenia. The firm's services
include the evaluation of the municipality's current wastewater
treatment and solid waste disposal systems as well as the development of
a conceptual design for improvements to these systems. Implementation of
the final project is estimated to cost $17 million.
Dignitaries from Celje, Slovenia and engineers from Armentrout
Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C. will be meeting
with Mayor Doc Eldridge on Thursday, November 11,1999. The Offices of
the Mayor and the Manager have scheduled tours of Athens-Clarke County
facilities for Celje city officials and engineers from Armentrout
Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C.
The country of Slovenia was formed following the break-up of the
Yugoslav Republic. The country is bordered on the north by Austria and
to the west by Italy. The final goal of the project is to provide the
City of Celje with waste treatment and disposal systems that meet
European Union (EU) standards. Slovenia anticipates applying for
membership in the EU within the next 4-5 years.
