AMTpc worked closely with the Hancock Board of Commissioners, Sandersville Technical College and the Central Savannah River Development Commission in developing the leverage required to obtain the grant, detailed outline of the program, outline the intergovernmental agreement for the land as well as the Preliminary Engineering Report and the submission of the CDBG application.
Continuing with this working relationship, AMTpc worked to successfully design and oversee construction of the Commercial Drivers Licensing (CDL) training facility that was completed in the Fall of 2010. The project was unique in that Hancock County provided construction grading services to minimize construction costs and a general contractor completed the balance of the project.
The project involved grading for a 1 mile circular track with a 10,000 square foot pad for driver training. The site design included significant drainage design and stormwater mitigation plans. AMTpc worked with county forces for initial clearing and grading and then selected a contractor for drainage system installation, asphalt paving and final grading.
