PRESS RELEASE - REED SHEATS, P.E. Reed Sheats, a structural engineer with the engineering / architectural / construction management firm Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group, P.C., recently received his professional engineer license. Mr. Sheats, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with bachelor's and master's degrees in structural engineering, has worked with the Athens-based firm for over three years on structural projects including a hurricane resistant school in the Caribbean, a recreated covered bridge in North Georgia as well as many industrial, institutional and residential structures. Obtaining the PE license is the culmination of a significant effort involving the completion of an acceptable engineering education, the passing of an eight hour examination on the fundamentals of engineering, a period of a minimum of three years of engineering practice under a licensed PE and finally the passing of another eight hour examination on the principles and practice of engineering. Mr. Sheats is a lifelong resident of North Georgia and graduated from Winder-Barrow High School. He is married to the former Miss Holly Tatum and has a four-month old son, Luke Samuel.
